Long boarding is a more laid back style of skateboarding. You can carve from side to side and maintain good speed and control with little effort. You can easily go down hills, cruise the strand, and ride the board on most streets. It’s certainly one of the more mellow forms of skating.
The carver is a skateboard made by surfers that was designed to emulate the feeling of riding a wave. It really goes hand in hand with surfing. Whenever the surf conditions aren’t good or there are no waves to be surfed, I break out my carver and go shred the streets. You can preform really sharp turns and use a pumping movement by using your core to gain speed without ever touching the ground. This one is my personal favorite. It’s relaxed, feels like surfing, and smooth!
The trick deck is the most well known form of skateboarding that can be taken to many different levels. It focuses a lot on street tricks (grounds tricks) such as the ollie, kick flip, and shove-it. You can also take it on half pipes and ramps to preform different grinds, slides, and ariels. The possibilities are endless with the trick deck.
